The Cairngorms National Park is the UK’s largest National Park, in the Scottish Highlands and offers masses of things to do including watersports, snowsports, wildlife watching, and some incredible walking and cycling routes.
Voted One of the Top 20 Places to Visit by National Geographic Traveller Magazine we highly recommend you experience some of it's natural beauty spots during your visit. As David Attenborough said it's one of the glories of wild Scotland.
Featuring some of the best skiing the Cairngorms has to offer, the Cairngorm Mountain funicular is now fully repaired and provides access to all mountain ski runs where expert and beginners alike can take advantage of snowsports.
From exciting outdoor activities and historic sites, to local distilleries and popular family attractions, everything is just a short drive away.
The Cairngorms has a lot to shout about when it comes to nature. It has a quarter of Scotland’s native pine forest. A quarter of the UK’s rare and endangered species. And five of the UK’s 6 highest mountains, which sit in the most extensive example of arctic mountain landscape in the UK.
Cycle, walk or drive to nearby lochs with stunning natural beauty all around you. From snow-capped mountains and ancient pine forests to unspoilt and calm lochs you'll feel completely relaxed.
The national park is also a haven for wildlife spotting including pine marten, wildcat, capercaillie, red squirrel, golden eagle and rutting deer. You can also spot ospreys at their hide within our resort grounds.
There's lots of operators who can provid guided tours including wildlife watching days and Landrover safaris. Or join a hill walking guide who can help you bag one of the Cairngorms 55 Munros.
With such low light pollution, amazing viewpoints and vast horizons, the Cairngorms is also recognised as one of the best places in the world to star gaze.
Whether you’re a thrill-seeker or just looking for a gentle adventure we have it all on our doorstep in the Cairngorms National Park.
At ground level choose from cycling, archery, pony trekking, clay shooting, quad biking, fishing and championship golf. There's even escape rooms perfect for a rainy day.
Explore higher up and experience hiking, snowsports, zip lining and meeting the UK's only free roaming reindeer herd.
Get in the water and try paddle boarding or river tubing or take it easier with canoeing or sailing.
This is just a sample of things you could be doing in our beautiful outdoor playground.
The Cairngorms National Park isn’t just for nature lovers, you’ll also find incredible attractions to visit all within a short drive of Aviemore.
