Due to the significance of the listed building, a team of specialist tradespeople including stonemasons and metalworkers have been assembled who are experienced in refurbishing historic buildings.

The main work, which will involve scaffolding being erected on the sides of the building facing Beaumont and Magdalen Streets, will take place between 9 September and Christmas. All work expected to be completed by spring 2019. The hotel's Morse Bar, instantly recognisable as the watering hole of Colin Dexter's world-famous detective, Inspector Morse, will be closed for refurbishment for two weeks from 16th September. The hotel will remain open throughout the refurbishment and extensive efforts have been made to reduce any possible inconvenience to guests and ensure their stay is relaxing and enjoyable.

Our Macdonald Randolph Hotel is the leading 5-star hotel in Oxford and offers luxurious accommodation, delicious food and a sensuous spa haven in the heart of this world-famous University City.
