Our 5-star Macdonald Randolph Hotel which is 150-years-old undergoing a multi-million-pound refurbishment this winter.
Due to the significance of the listed building, a team of specialist tradespeople including stonemasons and metalworkers have been assembled who are experienced in refurbishing historic buildings.
The main work, which will involve scaffolding being erected on the sides of the building facing Beaumont and Magdalen Streets, will take place between 9 September and Christmas. All work expected to be completed by spring 2019. The hotel's Morse Bar, instantly recognisable as the watering hole of Colin Dexter's world-famous detective, Inspector Morse, will be closed for refurbishment for two weeks from 16th September.
