There are many reasons to visit Macdonald Forest Hills Hotel and Spa and these quickly become reasons you never want to leave.
If you ever tire of just looking out at our spectacular setting, however unlikely that may be, the hotel has everything you need to keep you entertained. It's difficult to believe you are under 20 minutes from Stirling, 40 minutes from Glasgow and less than an hour from Edinburgh. It's the perfect antidote to city life.*
Our luxury four-star hotel has had a full redesign in 2017, upgrading our bedrooms and public spaces to create the perfect country retreat. If you like to kick back and relax, unwind by the pool or enjoy a soothing spa treatment. If you are keen to fill your lungs with the freshest of air, get out and about and explore with a countryside walk, a swing in the trees at Go-Ape or hire a bike and get off-road. Whatever the weather throws at you we've got the perfect spot to enjoy it. In the sunshine, our terrace is the only place to be with an indulgent Afternoon Tea. Should the weather be less favourable, there is no cosier place than in front of a crackling open fire in the lounge.
It's easy to see why our picture perfect location is chosen for memorable exclusive use weddings, out of town day trips and a popular Sunday lunch destination. Just be warned: you may never want to leave.
*Free-WiFi is at hand should you need to get in touch with reality during your stay.

Things to do
At Forest Hills you can experience the very best of Scotland on your doorstep. We're surrounded by lochs, mountains and forests and even have castles and distilleries nearby.
Within Aberfoyle, just 4 miles along the loch, you'll find a range of great shops plus a few pubs and restaurants. Further afield and Callander is worth visiting for locally produced gifts, art and artisan produce. For those who like a wee tipple we recommend three distilleries within the area; McQueen Gin, Deanston Whisky and Glengoyne.
For great walks, bike trails, ranger activities and more visit the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, just up the hill from Aberfoyle village. This 50,000-acre forest park extends from the eastern shores of Loch Lomond to the mountains of Strathyre and has a wonderful visitor centre and cafe with stunning views across the Trossachs.
