13 September 2021

With 27,000 city dwellers surveyed by globally recognised culture publication Time Out, Manchester has made the cut for '37 Best Cities in the World in 2021'.

Third spot for Manchester

Ranking higher than popular world cities of New York, Tokyo and Los Angeles, Manchester has increasingly captured the hearts of travellers in recent years. Boasting a cultural heritage founded on some of the most influential music acts of recent decades, a trip to this northern powerhouse today offers a diverse array of bars, restaurants and events appealing to all.

From the trendy streets of the Northern Quarter to the scenic waterways of Deansgate and Castlefield, visiting with friends and family lets you pick and choose how you want to experience the city. Spend the day browsing your favourite brands in Manchester Arndale, visit the Science & Industry Museum to uncover more about the city's inventive past, or take in fine art at Manchester Art Gallery.

With the annual Manchester International Festival and a packed events list promoting creative arts and social inclusivity, there really is no better time to visit the city - which is rapidly earning a reputation as one the top destinations on the planet for a feel-good trip.
