The Regency Restaurant is also open for breakfast, where guests can begin the day with a traditional full English breakfast or enjoy the selection from the continental buffet.
Walk off the breakfast by tacking a Lakeland fell such as the nearby Little Mell Fell or the Great Mell Fell. If you were looking to spend the morning in a more relaxing manner, Lowther Castle is well worth a visit.
Seventy years on from its demolition, Lowther Castle is now one of the most intriguing visitor attractions in the country. Dramatic ruins and gardens within gardens so your four-legged friends can enjoy it too.
Once you’ve explored the castle and gardens, treat yourself to lunch in the café.
After lunch its time to head to the lake. For the adventurous why not head to the hotel’s activity centre and try either sea kayaks or open canoes, and with guides by your side head off on a journey to explore Ullswater. The distance and pace will be tailored to your preferences on the day. Kayaking and canoeing are perfect for a relaxing experience and in one of the most beautiful areas of the UK. For those looking for a little more fun the day can also include a cliff jump, which takes place on the lake shore.
Alternatively, you can explore the lake on the historic Ullswater ‘Steamers’. The Steamers have been operating cruises here since 1859, the oldest vessel Lady of the Lake was built in 1877.

Day 3: Sunday
After another delicious breakfast in the Regency restaurant we suggest a trip to Dalemain House and Gardens before beginning your journey home.
Dalemain is one of the most beautiful and impressive stately houses in the North West of England. The finely dressed pink stone of its Georgian façade glows magnificently in the sunlight.
It is also home to The World’s Original Marmalade Awards and you can sample hundreds of different varieties in the café and shop.
