British Junior Golf Tour

Macdonald Portal Hotel, Golf & Spa are delighted to be welcoming the British Junior Golf Tour to their Championship course this February.

Now in its 15th year, the British Junior Golf Tour (BJGT) is the largest junior golf tour in the UK, which provides regular competitive, challenging, fun and affordable junior golf competitions across the country. The tour is aimed at boys and girls aged from 5 to 17 years, with younger juniors playing shortened courses from age-related tees. The BJGT is also one of the few organisations in the UK to promote the use of caddies for junior golfers, encouraging families to come out and enjoy the game together.

The BJGT will be hosted by Macdonald Hotels & Resorts on two occasions this year: at Macdonald Portal Hotel, Golf & Spa for their 2-day Winter Cup and 2020 season opener 17 & 18 February, and at Macdonald Hill Valley Hotel, Golf & Spa for the second consecutive year for their 3-day Summer Cup, 27-29 July.

The Winter Cup at Macdonald Portal Hotel, Golf & Spa in Chester is a sold out event, with 90 players from around the UK competing across several categories: ages 6 & Under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, as well as a Junior Open division. BJGT OOM points and trophies will be available each day and they will be crowning an overall champion in each division after 18 or 36 holes (depending on category), based on the lowest aggregate gross score over the two days.
