Macdonald Aviemore Resort Celebrates Winter Olympic Athletes
To celebrate the success of the 2022 Winter Olympics, Macdonald Aviemore Resort is seeking to reward those who share a name with a local athlete.
The award winning resort is offering a 35% booking discount to anyone with either the same first or same second name as one of the Cairngorms’ 19 home-grown Olympians.
Holidaymakers who share a name with sports professionals such as Ewan Mackenzie, Noel Baxter and Lesley McKenna can enjoy a special offer this March, saving up to 35% on their standard flexible rates at the four-star resort. Guests will also receive a free skating session at Aviemore Ice Rink.
New for the 2022 winter season, the ice rink has already had more than 10,000 visitors, with plans in place to expand the popular destination through ongoing fundraising.
Cairngorms Olympic Athletes
The Cairngorms boasts a higher percentage of home-grown Olympic athletes per head of population than anywhere else in the UK.
Over the past 50 years, 19 Olympic athletes who have been born in, or have connections to, the Cairngorms have gone on to represent their country in Summer and Winter Olympic Games.
