Grasmere Village Walk
This is a very easy walk around the outskirts of the village and along the attractive, level, riverside footpath
Distance – 2 miles (3km), allow 1 hour


Loughrigg Terrace, Grasmere
An excellent, moderate walk from the centre of the village to Loughrigg Terrace and one of the best views of the Lake.
Distance – 2.5 miles (4km), allow 2 hours
Rydal Mount & Rydal Water including Rydal Cave
A level walk through Wordsworth country, with spectacular views of Dunmail Raise and Grasmere, returning via the wooded shores of Rydal Water and the Coffin Trail
Distance – 3.5 miles (6km), allow 2.5 hours


Alcock Tarn, Grasmere
A steep climb to Alcock Tarn to one of the best views of the Grasmere valley and then a pleasant stroll back through the woods
Distance – 3 miles (5km), allow 3 hours
Easedale Tarn, Grasmere
A classic walk to a dramatic, isolated mountain tarn. A steep climb but you are rewarded with terrific views of Grasmere
Distance – 4 miles (6.5km), allow 2.5 hours


Helm Crag
A steep uphill walk to the distinctive ‘Lion and the Lamb’ summit rocks of Helm Crag is rewarded with excellent views over Grasmere and the Langdales
Distance – 7.5 miles (12km), allow 5 hours
