Getting to Leila Playa Resort is easy.
The nearest airport to Leila Playa is Malaga in the Costa Del Sol, all low-cost Airlines from all major airports fly to Malaga and the resort is about 35 minutes by taxi from the airport. Macdonald Resorts can organise Shuttle Service style transfers (10 pax per coach) or private transfers, guests can however make their own way to the resorts by public transport or taxi from airport, taxi is around €65 one way. A Train goes from airport to Fuengirola where you can pick up a local bus to Calahonda as the resort has bus stops within a 5-minute walk.
To reach Macdonald Leila Playa from the airport drive east on the N-340 and then on the E-15/A-7 ‘Autovia del Mediterraneo’ towards Cadiz. Continue on this road for 23 kms, driving past Torremolinos and Benalmadena. At around 23 kms, stay on the right (inside) lane signed for Fuengirola/Algeciras A-7. Be careful not to stray onto the E-15/AP-7 motorway toll road. Continue for a further 20 kms into Urbanisacion Calahonda. The Leila Playa resort is on the beach side of the road so you need to cross over the dual carriageway. After junction J-195 turn off right onto slip road (Cambio de Setienda Cabopino). At the T junction (near Shell garage) turn left, then at mini roundabout take 2nd exit to cross over-bridge. At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit to rejoin A-7 towards Malaga. Keep your speed down, in 1 km pass under footbridge and prepare to turn right into the Leila Playa entrance which is immediately after the bus stop, which is itself just past the footbridge. The entrance is not easy to see approaching from this direction so a good landmark is the name of the Calahonda district shown on a wall in huge white lettering on the opposite side of the road, this is level with the Leila Playa entrance gate.
Electric car charging is available at Leila Playa Resort.
