Loch Morlich
Loch Morlich

lochs and rivers to dive into

Watersports for everyone.

When it comes to watersports you’ll be spoilt for choice in Aviemore and the Cairngorms.

For a meditative outdoor activity, consider a spot of fishing at Rothiemurchus. From seasoned fly fishers to beginners, the fishing centre is a great family day out, and if you’re unsure the instructors will be more than happy to help guide you.

For the adrenaline junkies, there’s loads to do. Experience gorge walking or canyoning surrounded by stunning scenery and waterfalls. Or why not try your hand at river tubing or white water rafting? Start off on one of the gently flowing rivers or jump into the deep end on one of the white water rapids.

If you prefer something in between, we’ve got you covered. There’s kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding on Loch Morlich or sailing and windsurfing at Loch Insh - or you could simply stay on the resort and take a refreshing dip in our pool.

Fishing

Nearby to us is Rothiemurchus Fishery with its stocked lochs set in spectacular surroundings with dramatic views of the Cairngorm Mountains. The dedicated fly fishing loch provides a tranquil setting for fly anglers to try and latch on to top quality rainbow, blue and brown trout. You can also book lessons or take the kids to feed the fish. There's something for all ages.
