Pro's Tip:
More room left off the tee than it looks. Best line is over the path on the brow of the hill.
Spey Valley Golf Course
YARDS: 7153 | PAR: 72
Opened in July 2006, Macdonald Spey Valley Championship Golf Course has established itself as one of Scotland’s leading golf venues with a total length of 7118 yards from the back tees. With numerous teeing grounds on each hole, the course can be played from the middle tees at a modest 6600 yards or the forward tees at just 5900 yards. Both of which are an enjoyable test of golf.
The course architect Dave Thomas has been responsible for a large number of course designs throughout the world and believes that his design in the Highlands of Scotland could be one of the best. With the River Spey flowing alongside some of the undulating fairways, the silver birch lining the majority of the holes, and the Cairngorm Mountains as a backdrop, it is easy to see why the course has proven to be a must play golfing venue for both the amateur and professional golfer alike.
Spey Valley was recently voted in the Top 100 Golf Courses in Scotland and played host to the European Challenge Tour’s Scottish Hydro Challenge from 2009-2018. This 18 hole layout features one of the longest par 5’s in Scotland, which from the back tees is a full 635 yards in length.
