Macdonald Hotels & Resorts aims to raise record amount for the group's nominated charity, The Princess Royal Trust for Carers this December

With Christmas the traditional time to show people just how much you care, the 68 hotels and six resorts that comprise the Macdonald Hotels & Resorts group will be joining forces this month (December) in a bid to collectively raise around £80,000 for the Princess Royal Trust for Carers.

This is the first festive fundraiser for its nominated charity, and has been introduced to raise the profile of the need of carers at this particular 'caring' time of the year.

Throughout the month, every property within the group will take part in activities including selling raffle tickets during its Christmas Party Nights, with all monies raised going directly to the charity. Prizes will include dinner for two and a bottle of champagne.

The association between the Macdonald Hotels & Resorts group and the Princess Royal Trust for Carers is a well-established one, with the charity nominated as the hotel's preferred charity for almost six years. The organisation provides support to 129 Carers Centres across the country, and helps nearly six million carers of which more than 20% look after someone for more than 50 hours a week.

Party Nights are available throughout December for individuals and groups. Smaller businesses, can simply take a table at a 'Join a Party' night on a nominated date, while larger organisations can host their own evening. Prices start from £25 to include a traditional three-course meal and coffee, crackers and novelties with a disco or live band keeping the party going until midnight.
