MACDONALD RUSACKS CARTS OFF PRESTIGIOUS GOLF AWARD

The Macdonald Rusacks Hotel in St Andrews has been named Large Hotel of the Year at the Golf Tourism Scotland Awards, which were held at the town’s Fairmont Hotel, on Wednesday 31 October. The Macdonald Marine Hotel & Spa was also shortlisted in the same category.

The Macdonald Rusacks, which overlooks the 18th green of St Andrews’ Old Course, recently underwent a £1.4 million refurbishment. The hotel was praised for its personal golf liaison facility, consistent levels of service and the added comfort resulting from the refurbishment.

The Golf Tourism Scotland Awards seek to identify the best performers in Scottish golf tourism, with the event now recognised as the principle social occasion in the industry’s calendar.

The award caps a great couple of months for Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, which was also named AA Hotel Group of the Year at the AA Hospitality Awards, as well as scooping the National Customer Services Award for Leisure and Tourism at the National Customer Services Awards.
