Macdonald Hotels Fulfils a Niche for Women

Macdonald Inchyra Grange Hotel in Falkirk and Whyte House Office Solutions has joined forces with The Association of Scottish Businesswomen (ASB) to pioneer the area's first women only ASB networking group.

The team set up the Central Scotland Businesswomen's Network (CSBN) to enhance the business interests of businesswomen in the area, following much research and a highly successful 'taster' event held earlier in July at the hotel. The affiliation to The Association of Scottish Businessswomen enhances the membership benefits of the network whilst giving members access to a national network of contacts and marketing opportunities.

Yvonne Wilson, Sales Manager at The Macdonald Inchyra Grange Hotel, explained; "In the Forth Valley area there is a distinct lack of bespoke networking groups. There are clubs for start up businesses but not much more than that. Liz Whyte from Whyte House Office Solutions and I decided to engage the challenge of setting up such a group. I had approached the President for The Association of Scottish Businesswomen (Anne Bunting) to express an interest in setting up a group, coincidently Liz had done the same.

She continued; "The event we held in July was a great success, with over 50 people attending. We later met again in August to get participation from prospective members on how the club should operate, and we had invited people to put themselves forward to join Liz and I on the committee, which will be know in the first year of operation as The Steering Group. The Steering Group has already started forming the strategy for taking the network forward and it has just been announced that we will also be organizing the annual work/life balance weekend in March 2010, to be held at The Macdonald Inchyra Grange Hotel. We look forward to showcasing a fantastic weekend, which we have themed as 'Who do you think you are'.
