There will be the sound of the clinking of golf balls as well as cups when a leading Whitchurch hotel joins in the Macmillan World's Biggest Coffee Morning.
As well as urging local people to go along to the Macdonald Hill Valley Hotel, Golf and Country Club in Tarporley Road to take part in the annual fundraising appeal on Friday, September 28, staff have organised a golf clinic.
Professional Clive Burgess will be giving advice to experienced players and beginners between 11am and midday in exchange for a donation to Macmillan which supports people throughout the UK who are diagnosed with cancer.
Coffee will be served in the lounge between 10.30am and noon as well as tea and herbal and soft drinks.
Jo Blake, Director of Sales at the Macdonald Hill Valley Hotel, Golf and Country Club, said it was the first time a Macmillan coffee morning had been held at the venue.
"Taking part in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning couldn't be easier because all you have to do is come along to the hotel, sit down and relax and enjoy a cup of coffee," she said.
"It is a great opportunity to get together with a group of friends over a cup of coffee or two and help a worthwhile cause.
"All we ask is for guests to donate a minimum of £1 for this worthwhile fundraising appeal which last year raised a total of over £7 million which is a staggering amount.
"For those feeling more energetic our golfing professional Clive Burgess will be giving tips to men and women golfers to improve their game.
"Macmillan Cancer Relief provides practical and emotional support for people with cancer and coming along to support our coffee morning will help the charity to extend their specialist service even more."
