JOHN BADLEY SAILS TOWARDS SUCCESS IN THE LAKES
Macdonald Hotels & Resorts has appointed John Badley as executive chef at Macdonald Leeming House in Ullswater.
John brings a wealth of experience to his new role having formerly worked as regional executive chef for Macdonald Hill Valley Hotel and Macdonald Portal Hotel. During his time at The Macdonald Albrighton Hall & Spa, where he took the restaurant from zero to two AA Rosettes in under two years, he secured an impressive 78 per cent quality rating. He is now working towards gaining a third rosette for Macdonald Leeming House.
The chef has also worked at The Savoy in London and with renowned chefs Marcus Wareing and Gordon Ramsay. At the Five Bells in Bedfordshire he was instrumental in creating a Catey award winning Menu Of The Year as well as consistent recognition from the AA.
Macdonald Hotels & Resorts identified John's natural flair for cooking and passion for food and believe he is one of the Group's greatest assets. He is committed to raising standards within the industry and places a great deal of emphasis of staff training and development.
Commenting on his move to Macdonald Leeming House, John said: "My new role within Macdonald Hotels is a great honour. Leeming House has a fabulous reputation for its food and I want to continue this tradition and raise the standards even further. I have a great team about me and we are focusing our attention on not only delivering a fantastic, consistent culinary experience for local and residential guests, but on achieving our third AA rosette."
