November 27th 2006

One of the most famous hotels in the lake district is renovating its jetties and offering special packages as part of a £10m investment to transform the hotel to a luxury four star hotel and spa, unrivalled in the area.

Macdonald Old England Hotel, Bowness-on-Windemere, is at the heart of Bowness Bay and has improved and expanded its private jetties for yacht owners who visit the famous lake.

The jetties nestle on the edge of the beautiful hotel grounds

The exclusive facilities that are available from the Old England Hotel have inclusive water and electric hook up, lit jetties and free car parking. Visitors can get a mooring membership card which provides a 15 per cent discount on food and liquid in the hotel's restaurant and terrace lounges both with panoramic views over the lake.
