Beef lovers beware.... Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, the UK's largest private hotel group, has announced a unique Scottish Beef month that will be taking place across their portfolio of hotels from Saturday, 23 June to Sunday, 22 July.
Coinciding with The Royal Highland Show in Edinburgh taking place in June (21 - 24), it aims to showcase Macdonald Hotels & Resorts' passion for food. With a focus on beef, this will be the first in a series of celebrating food events in 2007. With an emphasis on quality, traceability, and provenance, the group source only the finest grass-fed Scottish bred beef for their hotels from Scotbeef's accredited mainland and island farms, which is then matured for a minimum of 21 days. Scotbeef also supply other prestigious brands such as Marks & Spencer.
From Sunday roasts and fillet mignon to rich delicious stews; beef has always been a favourite throughout the generations. Guests dining at any Macdonald Hotel during will be enticed to sample some mouth-watering beef dishes and at each hotel guests Scottish Beef month can enjoy the following signature beef dish at a special promotional price: Grilled Scottish Prime Sirloin Steak with thyme roasted new potatoes from only £12.95 per person, which could be accompanied with a glass of the sommelier's recommended Pinotage Cape Bay. Unique to the Cape, this is a delicious red wine with attractive berry fruit overtone and a perfect accompaniment to the steak.
