A murder will take place at the Macdonald Kilhey Court Hotel, near Wigan, on Friday February 23rd, and you are needed to solve the crime. Join the Murder Mystery weekend, Friday February 23 to Sunday February 25, priced from £230 per person, and you might win the Super Sleuth Award. The setting is perfect; an imposing Victorian mansion, ten acres of luxuriant gardens and lovely views of the picturesque Worthington Lakes. For reservations call: 0844 879 9045.
The murder weekend, brainchild of Joy Swift, is now in its 25th anniversary this year. This plot, along with a number of others (visit www.murder.co.uk), and an April launch of an autobiographical book, The Joy of Murder, in which there is a tantalizing thriller to solve are all part of the celebrations.
Guests arrive, in character, for a pre-dinner cocktail reception where they meet fellow detectives and cast, and the plot begins. A blood curdling scream pierces the conversation during dinner. Everyone is a suspect, interrogation gets underway, clues are revealed and more dreadful events occur. Come Sunday morning the Chief Inspector calls everyone to the murder incident room to sum up the case, reveal the identity of the villain, and name the winner of the Super Sleuth Award.
The price, based on 2 sharing and subject to availability, includes 2 nights' half board accommodation, Sunday lunch, afternoon tea and the Break for Murder itinerary, competitions and games. To book a place on the Joy Swift Murder Weekend at Macdonald Kilhey Court Hotel, call 0844 879 9045 or visit: www.macdonaldhotels.co.uk
