
MACDONALD HOTELS REVEALS DYNAMIC DUO AT MANCHESTER HOTEL

Garin Davies (39 years) has been revealed as the driving force behind the forthcoming £33 million Macdonald Manchester Hotel, which is scheduled to open in October 2007.
As General Manager, Garin, who over the last 20 months has spearheaded the highly acclaimed St Paul's Hotel in Sheffield, will be responsible for the much-anticipated Macdonald Manchester Hotel, which is located in the heart of the city, close to the busy Piccadilly Station.
Garin said: "The hotel's location is second to none and with a focussed sales and marketing plan, first-class service and facilities coupled with our strong reputation as a group for attention to detail and our food, I am confident we can quickly establish a strong profile for this development ahead of the opening in October.
"I firmly believe the underlying success of a hotel is its people, so my first task will be to develop an experienced customer-focused team that can deliver first-class services to match the hotel's excellent facilities."
With over 20 years in the hotel and conference sector, this will be Garin's ninth hotel opening and his second city centre 4 star deluxe hotel with Macdonald Hotels.
Forming a formidable duo with Garin in Manchester will be Liz Wood, who is stepping into the role of Director of Sales & Marketing. Liz, who is currently driving the profile of and business into St Paul's in Sheffield, will be responsible for responsible for handing all the market segments of the hotel and the building of key relationships within the business community.
Over the next eight months, the luxurious Macdonald Manchester hotel with its striking glass clad exterior will emerge as one of the city's coolest, contemporary destinations. Maintaining the high standard of luxury business and leisure accommodation already enjoyed by visitors in the city, the hotel will not only boast extensive conference and event amenities capable of holding up to 280 delegates - including LCD screen-to-laptop systems and projectors, WiFi and broadband connections - but a state-of-the-art thermal spa, the perfect location to relax and de-stress after a busy day.
The luxuriousspa will include a rock sauna, aroma steam and cold rooms, massage-sensation showers, infra red sauna and heated loungers.

The hotel will closely follow the much anticipated opening of the company's new 85 bedroom Macdonald Portal Hotel and Spa, next to the acclaimed Portal Golf Club in Tarporley, Cheshire, at a cost in excess of £11million.
