David Wills' 18 years at a leading Cheshire golf course has been a 'hole' lot of fun - and he's got the job down to a tee!

The director of golf can putt the ball into each of the 18 holes to mark each year he has worked at the Macdonald Portal Hotel, Golf and Spa.

David has seen major changes at the venue in Cobblers Cross Lane, Tarporley, since he first stepped on to the greens at the Championship course in 1990.

After notching up 18 years' service, David believes Portal is among the best golf complexes in the country following the £11.8 million re-development and extension.

"Eighteen years ago Portal consisted of an 18 hole Championship Golf Course, we have since introduced a further 27 holes , Europe's largest indoor golf academy, and a four star 85 bedroom hotel with spa and leisure facilities.

"The development was completed last summer and is attracting companies and guests from all over the country.

"Portal is fast becoming the place to play and stay in the North of England."
