EUROPRO TOUR EVENT SWITCH FROM THE CARRICK TO MACDONALD CARDRONA

The PGA EuroPro Tour event scheduled for The Carrick at Cameron House, the new course on the banks of Loch Lomond, has been switched to the MacDonald Cardrona course near Peebles. The dates for the 54-hole event remain the same - May 23 to 25.

Ian Gray, general manager at the Macdonald Golf Hotel Golf & Country Club, said: "We are delighted to be hosting the PGA EuroPro Tour at the Macdonald Cardrona. It is a highly prestigious event and we are sure the players will enjoy playing on our fantastic course, which is fast gaining a reputation as one of the leading resort courses in Scotland.

"This is one of a number of significant golfing events set to take place at Cardrona in 2007 - so it's shaping up to be an exciting year."

Set against the backdrop of some of the Scottish Borders' most beautiful scenery, and just 20 miles from Edinburgh, the Macdonald Cardrona Hotel, Golf & Country Club features an 18-hole par 72 course designed by the world renowned golf course architect, Dave Thomas. A challenging course, the fairways make the most of the woodland, parkland and river features that dominate it, and will undoubtedly pose a fitting test for players during the PGA EuroPro event.

PGA EuroPro Tour Operations Manager Danny Nickless said:

"Whilst it was obviously very disappointing that the Carrick at Cameron House would not be ready, it is great that the Macdonald Cardrona will be able to stage this event.

"Scotland has a fantastic golfing heritage and it was our aim to maintain a presence in the country this year. "The Macdonald Cardrona is in a superb setting and it should be an excellent test for players on the PGA EuroPro Tour."
