A new £3 million health club and spa at a leading Cheshire hotel is ready to open next month after making three key appointments.
The Spa at the Macdonald Portal Hotel, Golf and Spa in Cobbler's Cross Lane, Tarporley, opens on Friday, September 7 and will feature state-of-the-art gym equipment, an 18-metre swimming pool, a thermal suite and eight treatment rooms.
The hotel has appointed Mark Davies as its leisure sales manager and Pauline Jones has been named as spa manager.
Mark has a wealth of experience in the leisure industry in a variety of sales and management roles.
The new Spa will have a team of four therapists headed up by Pauline, who has run beauty salons and spas both in England and her native Ireland.
It will be the first of a new style of leisure club launched by Macdonald Hotels and will feature a thermal suite with sauna, rock sauna, aroma steam bath, ice room and salt infusion suite.
The new team will be headed up by Jason O'Neill who joins as leisure club manager which was a position he held at the Mollington Hotel and Spa in Chester.
Jason said: "The Spa is unique in Cheshire, and Macdonald Hotels has made sure that all the very latest services and equipment are on offer.
"The fact that when The Spa opens there will be a waiting list for membership shows how impressed people in the area have been with the facilities.

"The hotel has worked hard to get staff with the right combination of experience and enthusiasm necessary to ensure members get the most out of what we have on offer.
"I'm happy we've got that mix right and we are all now looking forward to welcoming our members."
