Portal Hotel Recruitment Day

About a dozen jobs are available at a recruitment day at a luxury Cheshire hotel this month.

The Macdonald Portal Hotel, Golf and Spa in Cobblers Cross Lane, Tarporley, is holding the recruitment open day on Wednesday, July 30.

There are vacancies in catering, housekeeping, administration and reception as well as at the Championship and Premier golf courses.

Complimentary light refreshments will be served and mini-beauty treatments will be carried out while candidates wait to be interviewed in the Castle Suite at the hotel which has completed its £11.8 million refurbishment and extension.

Christine Jones, director of sales at the Macdonald Portal Hotel, Golf and Spa, said the full and part-time positions would suit people already working in the hotel industry along with those seeking a career change.

"We are recruiting in numerous positions as we aim to continue to take the hotel forward," she said.

"We have vacancies for a wide range of skills from administration to front office staff and in the housekeeping and catering departments.

"This is the second recruitment day we have held and the first that we organised before the re-opening was extremely successful.

"This is a great chance to have a look round the venue following our major investment and talk to staff about the various opportunities available.

"Staff will also be here to chat to people considering a career change because there are some great employee benefits within Macdonald Hotels such as free leisure and spa membership and a training and development structure.

"We will be holding interviews on the day but if anyone can't make it on July 30, they can email their CV to the human resources department."

Vicky Hart and Alison Turnbull from human resources will join the heads of departments at the recruitment open day when job seekers should bring along their CV, photo ID such as their passport and work permit details if necessary.
