Macdonald Frimley Hall Hotel, Camberley Gains Second AA Rosette for Food Excellence

September 15th 2006

The recently refurbished Macdonald Frimley Hall Hotel & Spa, near Camberley, Surrey has been awarded a second AA Rosette for its food excellence under head chef Max Pettini.

Known for his modern European style of cuisine, Max took up his position at Frimley Hall around four years ago after working as development chef at the Macdonald Compleat Angler, Marlow. Much of his early experience was gained overseas with a four year apprenticeship in Canberra, Australia working for an award-winning Italian restaurant followed by work placement in Florence. He moved to England some seven years ago.

Commenting on this great achievement Max said, "I have a strong and dedicated team at Frimley Hall which has enabled me to achieve the two Rosettes; now we are striving for three."

Guests dining in the Linden Restaurant might expect to find pan fried scallops with calamari salad or roasted asparagus on the menu for starters. Mains might include a choice of pan fried filet of beef, lamb noisettes or poached halibut - a vegetarian option is always included - and to follow a delicious dessert such as a caramelised lemon tart with mascarpone ice cream. Prices work out at around £30 per person for three courses.

Frimley Hall also has a new banqueting suite offering high standards of cuisine for weddings, anniversaries and special gatherings catering for up to 250 guests.
