AA Reward

One of the first tasks for the new general manager of a leading Shropshire hotel was to install a plaque to marks its success in a national hospitality award.

Iain Gray fixed the gleaming prize to the wall in the reception at the Macdonald Hill Valley Hotel, Golf and Spa in Tarporley Road, Whitchurch. The award is in recognition of Macdonald Hotels and Resorts being named AA Hotel Group of the Year. Iain said the hotel group deserved to win the prestigious award for the high standards of its service and facilities throughout the group. This is the icing on the cake, he said. It has been a great few months for us after earning a four-star rating for the hotel from the AA and is fantastic news ahead of the opening of our health club and spa. We believe Hill Valley has played a key role in raising the standards of cuisine, accommodation and conference facilities for leisure and business guests visiting Whitchurch.

The national AA award also acknowledges the excellent standard of the service that we offer our guests. The majority of our staff are local people and this reflects extremely well on the area. We are looking forward to the early opening of the Spa later this month which will add another dimension to our business and prove that the hotel group fully deserves to earn this national recognition. The £1.7 million health club and spa will throw open its doors for the first time on Thursday, December 20, and will include a state-of-the-art gymnasium, a 20-metre swimming pool, a thermal suite and four spa therapy rooms where a range of treatments and therapies will be available.
