Tee off for Maggie’s at Spey Valley
Maggie’s Highlands is hosting a golf event at Aviemore’s Championship Spey Valley golf course on 17 April 2008. The aim of the event is to help reach the charity’s £300,000 fundraising target to match the annual running costs of the Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centre at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness. Places are still available for the event, sponsored by Bank of Scotland Corporate Banking and The Macdonald Aviemore Highland Resort. The entry fee is £485 per team of four and includes a round of golf on the 18-hole championship golf course, a sumptuous 3-course dinner at Macdonald Aviemore Highland Resort and an auction and raffle with after dinner speaker Peter Brown.
The money raised from the event will be used to provide support and information to cancer patients and their families in the Highland Community. Maggie’s Centre Community Fundraiser Manager for Scotland, Mhairi MacCallum said; “Since Maggie's Highlands opened three years ago, more than 9,000 people have benefited from our unique cancer programme.
“It’s thanks to generous donations and support for events such as the upcoming golf event that we continue to make a difference to people’s lives across the Highlands.” For further information or to enter a team contact Fiona McRae at Maggie’s Highlands on 01463 706302 or fionamc@maggiescentres.org.
