Savill Court HOTEL, EGHAM HELPS CANCER SURVIVOR TO RAISE £30,000 FOR CHARI-TEE

Savill Court Hotel & Spa, near Egham, Surrey is lending its support to a golf-mad cancer survivor who is using his love of the sport to raise an amazing £30,000 for Leukaemia Research and the Anthony Nolan Trust.

Roger Marris from High Wycombe, Bucks was inspired to raise money by playing 20 golf courses across the UK in only 21 days after he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2004.

During his epic charity challenge, he will be staying at the Savill Court Hotel & Spa with their compliments for three days from 6 - 8 June, when he will play a round at three nearby golf courses, namely Royal Ashdown, Sunningdale and Wentworth.

Roger, who will travel the county by motorbike, has raised £20,000 already, partly by selling the chance to tee off on the most exclusive courses around the country with him.

He said: "I'm really looking forward to setting off now, every opportunity to play in this event has sold out. It'll be great to meet all of the people who bid to play, so I can thank them for their generosity in raising so much for these two worthwhile charities, and to meet the team at Savill Court Hotel, who have been so generous."

Roger will be joined by BBC commentator, Hazel Irvine, for the last leg of his journey, where the two will be hitting the greens together at Wentworth in Surrey.
