Brendan and I had an absolutely fantastic day, the food was fabulous and all of our guests commented on what a beautiful venue and setting Portal is in. It was a really nice touch getting the Bride and Groom bath robes too, we've been wearing them ever since! I want to say a big thank you to you for helping us organize the day and for replying to my many e-mails so promptly. Also a big thank you to Iain for his efforts on the day, he was very friendly and helped keep Brendan and me on track during the day. Please also pass on our special thanks to the duty manager looking after us throughout the meal (I'm sorry I can't remember his name but he said it was his second day on the job and he'd come from the Mere, so I'm sure you'll know who I mean). He really was brilliant, he kept us on track, helped us hand out the gifts and generally just kept Brendan and me informed on food service times etc and he was really friendly and ensured everything went perfectly for us, which it did (we even got a bit of sunshine during the photos).

We were really impressed with the way he managed the day, which contributed to making it a very successful, pleasurable wedding day. We would definitely recommend he venue to our family and friends.

We are writing to inform you about the wonderful service we recently received for our wedding held at Macdonald Portal Hotel.The quality of the food served on the day was sublime and the presentation put into it was excellent, in fact many of our family and friends have commented on that being the best meal they have ever had at a wedding or large function. When we met Tracey she seemed to take complete control of the wedding detail and had all of the answers we needed and many suggestions for us along the way which is exactly the support we needed.
We were always treated with complete attention and understanding. The Golf Day that we had prior to the wedding was also excellent with lunch and golf enjoyed by all.

I would like to thank you and your team for our wedding day at Macdonald Portal Hotel. One could not have hoped for a better or more enjoyable day. This was down to the efforts of events organiser Tracey and the service and kindness given by all your staff on the day. From our first meeting with Tracey, we were given every help, guidance and understanding possible. The smooth running of the most enjoyable day possible is down to Tracey and her team. From the early start to the end of a long day (that flies by), the service provided was excellent. From the start of the day every help was given, from Tom's efforts throughout, to the little things, like I recall two young gentlemen staff in the early hours, asking if we had enjoyed the day and leave everything to them, with a smile. From comments of the guests, everyone was impressed with the hotel, the staff, food and the service. Most having never been to the hotel will be returning.

We would just like to thank you for an absolutely amazing wedding day. Everyone at Macdonald Portal Hotel was fantastic throughout the run up to the wedding and on the day. Loads of people have also commented on how nice the food was. Tracey and Leanne were superb and made sure everything ran smoothly. The day really exceeded our expectations and I will be thoroughly recommending Macdonald Portal Hotel as a wedding venue to others. Once again thank you for a wonderful day.

We really just wanted to say thank you for all your help in the run up to our wedding and on the actual day itself. All your hard work made it the best day of our lives. From the moment we came to Macdonald Portal hotel we knew that we would get married at there as Tracey was the only person who seemed to listen to what we wanted and be able to make our dreams a reality.
