These are just some of the lovely things guests have said after
staying at Macdonald Forest Hills Hotel & Spa.
We called reception and we were immediately put through to the
new manager. With in 5 minutes he was in our lodge trying to repair
our cooker. He was unable to repair it and so he offered us to eat
in the main restaurant in the hotel with a discount. We accepted.
The next day by 9am our cooker was fixed.
As I was leaving there was a man shouting about his dog having a
fishing hook in her mouth. Quickly the manager was called and he
acted like a super hero...I think your hotel is the best in
the world for doing this for the dog and for the man.
Once again I am writing to thank you and your staff for the very
good service we have received over 2015. In May we had a very
nice holiday with 33 members at Kilhey Court for a 6 night stay.
This hotel makes a very good centre to visit many varied
places of interest within a short distance of the hotel. The
staff were extremely kind and the food was excellent and we would
hope to return.
In June we returned for our barbeque at Forest Hills which we
thoroughly enjoyed. In November our committee had a weekend at
Linden Hall which was excellent. This is a nice distance from
Edinburgh for a long weekend.
In 2016 we are going to Houstoun House for a lunch and as usual
to Forest Hills. Other dates will be put in the diary soon.
I have been greatly helped in all this by Susan Minto, Sales
Director and value this.
We have never seen it the way it is now. The staff are happy.
The front loung is clean and bright with lovely fresh flowers and
plants with names. The new manager was very smart and smiley each
We holiday here every year in week 15 with my parents. The whole
resort has a spring in it and all of the staff seem to be happier
and smiling more. Even Davina was smiling more and seemed to be
happier. The grounds are cleaner. Shiny brass on dorrs. Pot plants
with living plants around the resort! The Sports facilities are
WORKING! WE PLAYED A GAME OF SQUASH! A brilliant new billiards
room. The service in Rafters was great. The hotel too was more
upbeat and so much cleaner.
We were greeted at the hotel by a person we later discovered was
the general manager. we only found this out by chance. He checked
us into the hotel and helped us carry our bags to the room. We
explained to him about our difficulties. he immediatly took matters
into his own hands. he drove my husband to the car with a workman
from the grounds and together they changed the wheel. he then
contacted a local gauarge who repaired the whell and the next day
we were ready to visit the area.
Our stay last week was fabulous. The service from your staff in
the garden restaurant was 1st class, and the meal - perfect.
Our treatment in the spa was great also and your staff
ensured a relaxing, comfortable and pleasant experience.
