Afternoon tea is a British tradition that goes back to the early 19th century. The 7th Duchess of Bedford conceived the idea of having tea at around 4 o'clock in the afternoon to ward off the hunger pangs between lunch and dinner, the custom caught on and afternoon tea was born.

At Macdonald Aviemore Resort our dedication to serving home-made variations using the finest, fresh ingredients ensures that our Afternoon Tea is something rather special. Served traditionally on a three-tier stand featuring home-made savoury finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones with jam and clotted cream, a selection of cakes, mini pastries and more. If you're in the mood to treat yourself you can opt for our Prosecco Afternoon Tea or perhaps a glass of Champagne!

You can enjoy your Afternoon Tea in the Food Court in the centre of the resort, The Laggan Bar inside The Highlands Hotel or at The Clubhouse at Spey Valley Championship Golf Course, whilst taking in panoramic views, just a 5 minute drive away.

  • Served in the Laggan Bar from 12pm - 6pm
  • Served in The Clubhouse from 12pm – 5pm
  • Served in the Food Court from 12pm – 3pm (Saturdays only)
