Set aside as a royal hunting area by William the Conqueror in
1079, the New Forest's 93 000 acres are still an awe-inspiring
natural attraction. It includes the largest remaining tracts of
unenclosed pasture land, wild heathland and forest in South East
England. Stay in our hotel near Lymington to be close to its many
attractions, both natural and man-made.
Spot local inhabitants like the famous herds of New Forest
ponies, deer, red squirrels, adders and, if you're lucky, rare
birds like the red kite or hen harrier. Man-made beauties gleam at
nearby Beaulieu, home of the National Motor Museum. Beaulieu Abbey
and Palace House are not to be missed either. Paulton's Park.
Is the New Forest's theme park where the kids will love taking
the raging river trip, meeting dinosaurs and riding the dragons. On
the Solent, Lymington is a major yachting centre with three marinas
that really come to life during the many regattas.
