With Britain's only hot springs, a Jane Austin legacy and the
most genteel of Georgian architecture, this is a most romantic
city. Where better to base yourself to enjoy that romance, history
and tradition than our hotel in Bath. The Roman Baths, its temple
and bathing complex are a good place to begin your visit. Bath
Abbey, where the first King of England was crowned, and the Jane
Austen Centre are equally fascinating.
More up-to-date pursuits might include a balloon flight or
vintage car drive, perhaps to the nearby Longleat estate with its
park's collection of wild animals. Films feature strongly in Bath's
recent history: Dracula, Vanity Fair and Persuasion have used the
city as a location.
Film stars have also found Bath attractive enough to make it
their home. Look out for Nicholas Cage or John Cleese. Perhaps
you'll see them doing a little gourmet food shopping in Prince
Charles's shop, which sells products from his Highgrove Estate.
