Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, Quality Breaks

Terms and Conditions

The terms and conditions detailed below apply to all short breaks and holidays featured in the Quality Breaks brochure ('Quality Breaks'). When you make a booking, your contract (which shall include these terms and conditions) will be with Macdonald Hotels Limited, Whiteside House, Bathgate, West Lothian, EH48 2RX (referred to in these terms and conditions as 'Macdonald Hotels').

All Quality Breaks featured in this guide are offered subject to availability and Macdonald Hotels & Resorts reserves the right to refuse any booking for good reason. Bookings may be made for stays between 1st November 2008 and 31st December 2009 inclusive.

PRICING

All prices shown in the Quality Breaks brochure are in £'s per person per night (unless otherwise stated) based on two people sharing a twin or double for two or more nights, except for certain holiday periods where a minimum three or five night stay may apply. These rates apply to pre-booked leisure stays only and are for a minimum two night stay. All prices include Value Added Tax at the current prevailing rate. Prices are subject to change without notice. However, your price is guaranteed once you are given a confirmation number. For the avoidance of doubt, your price does not include any incidental charges which you may incur during your stay (including, by way of example only, in respect of your use of the hotel's bar and mini-bar facilities and the costs of external telephone calls from your room). Such charges will be payable by you on your departure and, in the event that you fail to pay any such incidental charges, it is a condition of your contract with Macdonald Hotels & Resorts that you irrevocably authorise Macdonald Hotels to debit your credit or debit card (see 'Deposits and Pre-payments' below) for the amount of any shortfall.

WHAT THE PRICE INCLUDES

Prices for breaks include twin or double bedrooms (single room for single guests) with colour TV, direct dial telephone and private en-suite bathroom.

The prices shown in the Quality Breaks brochure are not valid in conjunction with any other offer and, until you have received your confirmation number, are subject to change without prior notice. References in the Quality Breaks brochure to midweek rates are for Monday through to Thursday nights and weekend rates apply for Friday, Sat and Sun nights, unless stated otherwise. A number of hotels incur a Friday and/or Saturday supplement charge.

AVAILABILITY

Availability of rooms at the rates shown in the Quality Breaks brochure may be limited and/or restricted to certain periods.

During major sporting events, social events, conferences and exhibitions, the rates shown in the Quality Breaks brochure may not apply.

FEATURE ROOMS

At many of our hotels you can, on payment of a supplement, upgrade your accommodation to a feature room or a suite, on a per room per night basis. Please ask for details.

SINGLE GUESTS

Individual guests using a single room (where available) are charged the standard per person rate and single supplement rate, as shown in the Quality Breaks brochure. No single supplement will apply to single room types on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. When no single room is available, individual guests may book a double or twin room and pay a single occupancy supplement as indicated in each hotel entry in the Quality Breaks brochure. For certain hotels, the supplement may be equivalent to the rate charged for a second person's stay.

CHILDREN

Children under the age of five can stay and eat free at any of our hotels, when sharing a room with two paying adults on the same meal basis. Children from the ages of five to 12 will be charged at £15.00 per child per night (this covers the cost of bed & breakfast. All other meals will be charged for as taken), when sharing a room with two paying adults where a suitable room is available. Availability of suitable rooms is limited and portable beds may need to be used where such accommodation is sought. The hotel concerned will determine whether a room is suitable for the purpose of this offer. Feature rooms are excluded from this offer. Children staying in their own room will be charged at 75% (Royal Garden guests will be charged at 100%) of the full adult Quality Break rate paid by the accompanying adults.

DRESS CODE

A formal dress code is applicable at a selection of our hotels when dining. Please call the hotel direct for more details.

BABYSITTING

At some of our hotels, babysitting services are provided as a chargeable extra. Where babysitting services are available, seven days' advance notice of your babysitting requirements is required by the hotel. For more information on availability and booking of our babysitting services, please call the relevant hotel direct.

GUESTS WITH IMPAIRED MOBILITY

A number of our hotels offer modified facilities for guests with impaired mobility. Others, whilst not having special facilities, have mainly level access to public areas and accessible bathrooms. Guests with impaired mobility or other particular requirements should check with their chosen hotel in advance that their requirements can be met. Please call the hotel direct for details.

DOGS

Certain of our hotels are able to accommodate dogs, at the manager's discretion, in some cases for an extra charge. Policy and prices are different in each hotel across the group. Please call the hotel direct for details.

CAR PARKING

Car parking is free at most of our hotels, but at some sites there is limited availability. For further information on parking availability and charges, please call the hotel direct.

CHECKING IN AND OUT

Arrival and Departure

Hotel rooms are available from 2pm on the day of arrival. Rooms must be vacated by 11am on the day of departure, unless otherwise sanctioned at the discretion of the hotel manager. For certain of our hotels, these times may differ. Please ask for details of the arrival and departure times when making your booking.

MEAL ARRANGEMENTS

Those Quality Breaks which include breakfast offer a full traditional or continental breakfast with tea or coffee, unless stated otherwise. Those Quality Breaks which include dinner offer a choice from the hotel's table d'hôte menu. Where a hotel does not offer a table d'hôte menu, an allowance (which varies from hotel to hotel) is allocated towards dining from the à la carte menu. There is no refund for meals which are not taken by guests and lunch cannot be taken in place of dinner.

HEALTH, LEISURE AND WELLBEING

Many of our hotels have excellent leisure facilities (which are free for guests) such as swimming pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi (the availability and range of facilities varies from hotel to hotel). Please check the availability and range of facilities at your chosen hotel when placing your booking. A charge will be made for the use of certain facilities, such as solaria, exercise classes and wellbeing treatments or in some instances spa facilities. Your use of such facilities is subject to any particular terms and conditions applying at the hotel at which you have placed your booking.

Under 16's are not permitted to use the gymnasium (where available) and must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times when using any other available leisure facilities. Under 5's are not permitted to use spa pools, saunas, solaria and steam rooms. Please check with hotel on any restrictions with regards to pool times for children.
