Macdonald Hotels Ltd, has appointed Catherine Bone as the new resort manager of Macdonald Forest Hills Hotel & Spa, Aberfoyle. Catherine, who recently returned to the UK, has spent the last twenty years working in some of New Zealand and Australia's best known luxury hotels, resorts, and restaurants.

Catherine, who can speak four languages including English, Dutch, French and German, brings a wealth of international experience to the role. During her 20 years in the hospitality industry, she has held general manager positions in a number of global luxury hotels and restaurants, including:

  • The five star Marlborough Vintners Hotel, set in the picturesque vineyards of Marlborough on New Zealand's South Island.
  • The award winning luxury Spicers Hidden Vale Retreat, Queensland, which holds Australia's coveted one Chef Hat ranking for its food, luxury cottages, a nature reserve and koala sanctuary.
  • The four star Peppers Craigieburn Resort in Bowral, New South Wales, Australia.

Ms Bone brings with her considerable high-level experience in the hospitality industry, having founded the Verdi Hospitality Consultancy in 2007, a business which offers profitability analysis, staff training and contract assignments for organisations in the sector. She is also currently remotely studying for an MBA in Leadership & Sustainability.
