Meeting Rooms near Preston

Macdonald Tickled Trout Hotel in Preston has launched its new time-focused Macdonald Meetings product to over 70 of Lancashire's business leaders while unveiling the £50,000 refurbishment of its renowned conference centre.

Macdonald Meetings, a personal and efficient corporate events service, is aimed to make time for those booking meetings at the hotel. Macdonald Tickled Trout Hotel has introduced a swift new booking system, new delegate packages, dedicated account managers and product specialists who offer speedy enquiry turnaround times, with the promise of a 30 minute response time for bookers, and the best rates from the outset.

Along with the new meetings offering, the self-contained conference centre has received a renovation to its 10 meeting rooms which included new upholstery, upgrades to the breakout area and a selection of murals specifically designed for the hotel.

The breakout area features a six metre landscape view of the River Ribble and the individual boardrooms feature old Preston street scenes with quotes commenting on time from Mother Teresa, William Shakespeare, Dr Seuss and Steve Jobs to continue the theme. In the entrance of the conference centre, a map of Preston from 1900 has been added, opposite a modern day map of the area.

The new service was launched at the 'Gathering of the Clans' networking event, held in partnership with Downtown Lancashire and the Federation for Small Businesses, which attracted keen networkers from across Lancashire. The evening included a Macdonald Hotels spring barbeque, where Team GB butcher Tom Wood from Huntley's Butcher provided some butchery knowledge and inspiration, Cartoonist Jack Knight who drew caricatures of the guests, cocktail masterclasses led by Tickled Trout bar manager Lauren Wright and wine tasting from The Lancashire Wine School.

Bethan Johnston, General Manager at Macdonald Tickled Trout Hotel, said: "The Downtown Gathering of the Clans event has gone from strength to strength since we held our first in October 2014. Therefore it felt fitting to launch our new meetings product and show off our upgraded conference facilities at one of our get-togethers. It was a fun night, with a fantastic turnout.

"Time is a major factor that affects all aspects of business, from the bottom line to simply finding the time, and we understand how precious this is to our corporate guests. With this in mind, it was integral that the theme of time formed a major part of the evolution of our meeting and conference offering, hence our mission statement; 'We make time for your businesses'".

Roger Jonas, Downtown Lancashire, said: "The Gathering of the Clans has now become a much anticipated networking event in Lancashire's business calendar. Downtown, in partnership with Macdonald Tickled Trout Hotel, the spiritual home of the 'Clans' and where it all began, were delighted to be working with the Federation of Small Businesses, to deliver what was our best one yet."
