Macdonald Hotels & Resorts is investing just under £1million
into an extensive bedroom refurbishment for two of its hotels in
the heart of the Lake District.
The renovations to Macdonald Old England
Hotel & Spa and Macdonald Leeming House will
begin in the New Year and will include improvements to a large
number of rooms as well as several suites, as part of an ongoing
investment programme across the group to improve the guest
The revamp to the four-star Macdonald Old England
Hotel & Spa on Church Street, Windermere, will cost
£500,000 and begins in January 2015 due for completion in
The investment will be used to upgrade 25 of the hotel's
bedrooms and four of the suites, which have stunning views of lake
Macdonald Leeming House in
Ullswater will also get a £350,000 investment to completely
refurbish 34 rooms following previous improvements to six bedrooms
