To celebrate the launch of this year's Dig the City festival, Macdonald Manchester
Hotel & Spa has created the ultimate outdoor bedroom
Fittingly named the '339th bedroom', the city centre
hotel has created the outdoor bedroom space with the help of
Manchester landscape company PR England & Sons, Groundwork and
planning consultancy Turley who were also involved with the design
of the project.
Comprising of turf and plants, the hotel staff put the finishing
touches to the 339th bedroom on Thursday morning, and
the exhibition is open to visitors throughout the festival
Dig the City, which takes places from Saturday 2 - Sunday 10
August, will once again see the city centre streets turn green in
celebration of all things gardening.
Paul Bayliss MBE, General Manager at Macdonald Manchester
Hotel & Spa, said: "We saw how successful the festival was
last year, so it's been a mission of ours to think of creative ways
we could get involved.
"We're in a prime location, with thousands of visitors to the
city passing through our doors each week - we're extremely proud to
showcase our outdoor bedroom and promote Manchester's greener city
initiative at the same time."
The hotel is situated just three minutes' walk from Manchester
Piccadilly Station. It is the largest four-star hotel
in Manchester and combines 338 beautiful bedrooms with state of the art
conferencing, an indulgent urban spa and first class bar,
conferencing and banqueting.
