Macdonald Inchyra Hotel & Spa near Falkirk has been acknowledged for its outstanding work in the local community, being named CSR Hotel of the Year at the recent UK-wide Macdonald Hotels & Resorts annual awards.

The prestigious award comes after Cabinet Secretary for Training, Youth and Women's Employment Angela Constance commended the hotel for its work with local young people who aspire to break into the hospitality industry. This initiative was a key factor in the decision by the hotel group to recognise Macdonald Inchyra Hotel & Spa with the award.

For over a year, Macdonald Inchyra Hotel & Spa has been working with Falkirk Council and training provider Positive Qualities to offer young people who are working towards the Bronze Employability Award the opportunity to undergo pre-apprenticeship training at the four-star hotel. Almost 50 students have gone through the programme, with 6 now in full time employment at the hotel.

In the last year, Macdonald Inchyra Hotel & Spa has also worked on a diverse range of community projects including fundraising events for Carrongrange School, charity tree planting days with Polmont Rotary Club, and fundraising dinners for Falkirk Football Club Academy and Strathcarron Hospice.

Brett Ingle, General Manager at Macdonald Inchyra Hotel & Spa, commented: "Over the last year the team at Macdonald Inchyra Hotel & Spa has done a tremendous amount of work to support the people of Polmont, Falkirk and beyond. It's a real honour to have the team's commitment recognised. It most definitely spurs us on to the next project.

"Looking to the future, one of our new initiatives will see students from Carrongrange School embarking on work placements here from August 2014, and we look forward to maintaining our support of the various charitable organisations we have been able to assist to date."

Macdonald Inchyra Hotel & Spa is based in the heart of the central belt just off the M9 and within 30 minutes of Edinburgh and Glasgow.
