Staff from
Macdonald Botley Park Hotel, Southampton, will be taking part
in a range of exciting activities from abseiling and dragon boat
racing to marathons, to raise £10,000 for Action for Children in
2013. To date the hotel has raised £2000 towards the year-end
target.
Action for Children; a leading children's charity which supports
vulnerable and neglected children, has been chosen by staff to be
the Hotel's charity partner for 2013.
Jason Nixon, General Manager from
Macdonald Botley Park Hotel says "The team at the hotel has
really embraced the initiative. What started out as a straight
forward fundraising pledge to raise £10,000 for vulnerable and
neglected children in our community, is growing into much
more.
"The partnership will also provide exciting life opportunities
for young people from Wessex Fostering Project, such as cooking
with our award-winning chef and receiving golf lessons with our
pro-golfer. Staff will not only have fun taking part in
fundraising activities, but they'll have opportunities to mentor
and coach children and young people".
Lauren Fitzgerald, Fundraiser for Action for Children said
"We're delighted that
Macdonald Botley Park Hotel has chosen us as their charity
partner for 2013. The £10,000 they plan to raise and the
opportunities they are providing for fostered children, will
make a real difference to our work supporting vulnerable and
neglected children.
