Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, the UK's largest privately owned hotel group, has further underlined its firm commitment to the meetings and conference market by investing in the BDRC Continental's VenueVerdict and Meetings Benchmark Tracker programmes.

These independently assessed conference delivery programmes enable Macdonald Hotels & Resorts to test the effectiveness of its enquiry handling techniques and in turn, benchmark this feedback with competitors in the meetings and conference sector.   The programme also processes feedback from event hosts to gain a benchmark for conference service and product delivery.

The decision to invest in the new programmes, which allows the hotel group to clearly identify what it's doing well and areas that may need to improve, comes in a year when the hotel group has already noted a distinct uplift in its conference business by 15% since April 2012.

Ruaridh Macdonald, Operations, Sales and Marketing Director of Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, commented: "As a market leading hotel group, Macdonald Hotels & Resorts is firmly focused on the quality of its product and service delivery.

"This is underlined by our decision to join BDRC Continental's VenueVerdict and Meetings Benchmark Tracker programmes, ensuring we consistently deliver in our Meeting@ promise to provide the highest standards within the corporate and conference sector."

The Meeting@ package across Macdonald Hotels & Resorts includes the promise that enquiries about conference and meeting space receive a written quotation within two hours.  The hotel groups continued investment in its meeting product is also reflected by ensuring increased bandwidth is increasingly available at many hotels.

Macdonald Berystede Hotel & Spa by Ascot and Macdonald Aviemore Resort in the Scottish highlands both already offer up to 100 Megabytes per second while group-wide there are plans to further improve WiFi capability with an investment of £750k across hotels to further improve the WiFi infrastructure, speed and delivery.

James Bland, Client Services Director of BDRC Continental, highlighted the benefits of subscribing to the programmes:"Implementing VenueVerdict and Meetings Benchmark Tracker demonstrates a genuine commitment to customer service and optimising the client experience at a hotel, so we are delighted to welcome Macdonald Hotels to our Customer Experience Management programmes and look forward to working with them over the coming years to help monitor service delivery performance."
