    SECRET TO A LONG AND HAPPY WORK-LIFE?

    Frank Sweeney, born in Edinburgh in 1941, says the secret to a long and happy career is getting up early and getting to work on time.  Frank, who has taken care of corporate clients at Macdonald Houstoun House for over a decade lives in Armadale, West Lothian. He officially retired from his position as maintenance manager at the hotel in 2006, but decided to stay on with the hotel after the group offered him a position managing the hotel's meeting facilities.

    TIME FOR BUSINESS MEANS TIME FOR YOU

    Macdonald Hotels will be on Stand 646 of the Business Travel Show at Olympia on 24th and 25th February.  Staff are stopping short of giving out train timetables, but they will be promoting the fact that 17 of their UK hotels are within 10 minutes of a train station.

    THE CORRECT WAY TO SERVE HAGGIS, NEEPS AND TATTIES

    Near the end of January 2016, one of the UK's largest independent hotel groups, Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, will be hosting lively, traditional Burns Suppers in 45 hotels right across the UK, in celebration of the life and works of Robert Burns.  This is believed to be one of the largest haggis-fests in the world and will incorporate one extra special event at Macdonald Aviemore Resort which will also host the Highland Premier of Robert Burns the Musical.

    One of Preston's rising stars in the hospitality and service sector has been recognised for her excellence at the Downtown in Business 'Women in Business Awards 2015'.  Bethan Johnson, general manager at Macdonald Tickled Trout Hotel in Preston, was presented with the 'Best in Hospitality and Service 2015 Award' last month by Frank McKenna, CEO of Downtown in Business.
