Located at the heart of the Northumberland countryside, just outside the picturesque village of Morpeth, the Macdonald Linden Hall Golf & Country Club is a beautiful venue for any wedding. Make the most of our vast lawns and hold a relaxed summer wedding in a marquee pitched in the open air. Alternatively, plan a warming reception as the leaves on our tree-lined drive begin to change and gather your guests around the Inner Hall's open fire. With its own dance floor and space for up to 260 guests, the Bigge Suite is the obvious choice for grand evening receptions, while a smaller space like the Library is suited to private dinners.

    Room hire is included in your Wedding Package except for the South Restaurant, which has a £300 hire fee and must be vacated by 6pm. For weddings taking place between 1st May & 30th September, the room hire for the Bigge Suite is £800 on a Saturday and £500 on a Friday.
    For weddings in the Bigge Suite on Fridays and Saturdays from 1st October 2009 until 30th April 2010, the room hire is £400.

  • Wedding Open Day in Northumberland

    Our next Wedding Open Day will take place on Sunday 18th October 2009.
    This is a fantastic opportunity to see Linden Hall's period rooms laid out for wedding breakfasts and ceremonies. Meet some of the recommended suppliers that will make your day unique. These include wedding photograph and video specialists, Mark Williamson and One Digital Image, whose work will be on display. Inspiration for your wedding flowers will be provided by popular local florists, The Flower Centre.


    Enjoy welcome drinks and canapés and sample home-made fudge as you are taken on a tour of our magnificent Georgian Manor House. Members of the team will be on hand to show guests around and discuss your requirements. Bedrooms and function rooms will also be available for viewing. Afterwards, why not enjoy Sunday dinner in the Dobson Restaurant or the Linden Tree brasserie. This the perfect way for brides-to-be to plan their wedding in Northumberland.

    A guide to wedding photography at Linden Hall by Mark Williamson,
    Master Photographer.

    Macdonald Linden Hall is, without doubt, one of the region's finest
    wedding venues. The manicured estate and floral borders around the
    entrance and Secret Garden are ideal for group photography, whilst
    the original Georgian entrance, with its soaring pillars, is perfect
    for capturing the arrival of guests and carriages. Whilst enjoying
    Linden Kir and welcoming guests, I find this an excellent opportunity
    to secure informal images, giving your album a real sense of
    enjoyment and atmosphere.

    The Inner Hall and grand staircase benefit from natural light from
    the original glass ceiling dome and in many cases allows for
    photography without flash, truly capturing the soft tones and warmth
    of people whilst remaining true to texture, fabrics and furniture.

    As your party gather in the cocktail bar and drawing room, additional
    natural images are taken that fully represent the happiness of your
    special day. More formal images are taken within your chosen ballroom
    or suite immediately after your ceremony or partnership. It is vital
    to secure those lasting memories of joy. Your guests are then
    invited to join the photography outside.

    Macdonald Linden Hall's estate, ballrooms and more intimate smaller
    suites are always well presented with impressive attention to even
    the smallest detail. I have been a professional photographer for over
    10 years, have worked at many venues throughout the United Kingdom
    and boast an enviable portfolio, but nowhere feels quite like
    Macdonald Linden Hall.
