Jack StockenWelcome to YORKSHIRE BRIDGE at Gisborough Hall

Bridge is fun, stimulating, social and suitable for all ages - without doubt, the best card game ever.

Now you can improve your Bridge game in the comfortable surrounding of Gisborough Hall with Jack Stocken, who offers professional yet friendly Bridge tuition in the region. Most people attend Bridge days on their own but try and persuade a friend if you can. Set hands are used throughout.

  • After the resounding success of the Bridge Days last year, Jack is delighted to announce another Intermediate day at Gisborough Hall on Saturday 20th February 2010 and an Intermediate Plus Day on 13th March 2010, both 10am - 4pm.

"Jack is a Bridge teacher par excellence, as many will testify" Andrew Robson,
Times columnist and Number One British player.

Prices are £49 per person including a delicious lunch and coffees. There is no need to have attended previous Bridge days and no need to bring a partner. Please read below for precise course content:

INTERMEDIATE DAY - Saturday 20th February 2010 Lessons
Suitable for those who have played Bridge for a long time, or just a year or two, this Bridge day will bring you right up to date with the modern game. The Bidding lessons cover all the essential openings and responses that are crucial to the game. 1. Suit Bidding
    2. No Trump Bidding
    3. Playing Suit Contracts
INTERMEDIATE PLUS DAY - Saturday 13th March 2010Lessons
You should have already attended the Intermediate Bridge days as the subject matter is of a more advanced nature and as always, the set hands will test your card play. Losing Trick Count and Signals & Discards are two of the most difficult subjects that I teach, so they are always worth repeating.1. Losing Trick Count
    2. Tricky Opening Leads
    3. Signals and Discards

Jack has moved back to his native Yorkshire, having managed the Andrew Robson Bridge Club for seven years. He is now teaching Bridge in the same style of the London Club with an emphasis on a friendly atmosphere and enjoyment of the game. Jack teaches classes in central Harrogate and also in private houses. More information is on his website www.yorkshirebridge.com or call him on 07775 892 720 to discuss course details.
