We serve only the finest Scottish beef, lamb, pork and wild white fish in our restaurants and source local, organic suppliers for our vegetables and dairy products where possible.

The Garden Restaurant at the Macdonald Forest Hills Hotel combines panoramic views with the finest in dining experiences. The surroundings are traditional, our food contemporary and yet classic and blended together these form a perfect retreat for an intimate dinner for two or a celebratory meal with friends. Our family friendly Rafters Bar and Bistro is an excellent choice for a relaxed meal after a busy day in the hills or on the loch.     A wholesome feast in the Garden Restaurant will really set you up for a day of adventure or sightseeing in the Trossachs. Whether that's a light fresh fruit buffet, home-baked breads, crunchy cereals, freshly squeezed juice or a full Scottish breakfast made from the finest organic produce and free range eggs, it's a great start to the day! In the evening the Garden Restaurant is transformed into an intimate haven of fine dining.


    Choose from a dazzling array of Scottish produce, cooked to perfection. Specialities include glorious Smoked Salmon and seasonal delights such as Saddle of Venison with Juniper Jus or whole grilled Lemon sole with Caper Butter sauce. For dessert try a Vanilla Crème Brulee, scrumptious Summer Pudding or a Selection of Fine Scottish Cheeses.

    Garden Restaurant

    Only the finest Scottish bred beef & lamb are supplied to our hotels by Scot Beef who source from accredited Scottish mainland and island farms. Our beef is hung for a minimum of 21 days to improve the taste and then hand cut by butchers using time-honoured techniques.

    Marine life around the coast of the British isles is colourful and fascinating, yet marine life and the sea on which we depend is under threat from pollution and over fishing. We are committed as a business to ensuring that the wild fish we buy is from accredited, sustainable sources George Campbell and son. John Ross Junior of Aberdeen, using only the finest quality ingredients, traditional methods of smoking and a care and respect for a very fragile environment, supplies our smoked fish.

    For a relaxed meal of family favourite dishes the Rafters Bar and Bistro provides great quality and value. The Macdonald Forest Hills Hotel prides itself on catering for casual family dining in comfortable surroundings. Choose from a wide selection of lunch, dinner and afternoon snacks including Lasagne, Caesar Salad, Greek Salad, Grilled Organic Shetland Salmon, succulent Burgers and homemade Steak Pie. A selection of fresh vegetables is served with a number of main courses and a choice of side dishes is also available. Finish with a very popular Knickerbocker Glory or a Warm Fudge Sundae. .

    Forest Hills Hotel can provide you with a range of succulent snacks and tasty treats in the comfort of your own bedroom. Room service favourites include Smoked Salmon from John Ross Aberdeen, classic Prawn Cocktail and Caesar Salad. Superb comfort food comes in the form of for example North Sea Beer Battered Haddock with hand cut chips and 21 day aged Scottish Rib Eye Steak. Beverages, light meals and desserts can all be served to your room between 7am and 10pm and there is a limited menu available 24 hours a day.
