Homemade Scones


  • 125g Self Raising Flour
  • 55g Butter
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Caster Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 85g Sultanas
  • 1 Egg
  • 2-4 tbsp Milk


  1. Rub the butter and flour together.
  2. Add the baking powder, sugar and sultanas.
  3. Beat the eggs and milk together and add to the mix.
  4. When you take the mixture out, you may need a little more flour to make it workable.
  5. Roll, cut out and leave in trays for 30 minutes before baking.
  6. Before baking brush each scone with egg wash.
  7. Bake at 170c for 15-20 minutes.
  8. Take out of the oven and dust with a sprinkle of icing sugar.
