Our premier wedding venue, the Craxton Suite, certainly has the 'wow factor', with abundant natural light from its triple aspect full-length windows and stunning views over the gardens. Host a personalised civil ceremony here or in an elegant marquee, then dine and dance the night away with friends and family before retiring to the luxury of your complimentary room. The Craxton Wood Hotel's air-conditioned Craxton Suite has four bars and a foyer, and direct access to the gardens, and can comfortably seat up to 300 wedding guests.

Planning that Special Day at Macdonald Craxton Wood Hotel, Chester
Provisional Bookings
Once you have decided on Craxton Wood Hotel and have set the date, you can make a provisional booking, without obligation, which will be held for two weeks.Confirming Your Booking
To confirm your booking we will require a £750.00 deposit with a letter of confirmation, along with a signed agreement. The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable.Civil Ceremonies
Why not hold your wedding ceremony here at Craxton Wood Hotel in one of our rooms overlooking the gardens? With an approved licence, wedding ceremonies can now take place in either The Craxton Suite, The Conservatory or The Residents' Lounge. The hotel charges £350.00 for a Civil Ceremony. The ceremony normally takes 20 minutes, however you may wish to personalise the service by adding readings of your choice.

The Wedding Co-ordinator will meet with you about 3 weeks prior to the wedding to discuss your day in detail. You will then receive confirmation of all your details along with a pro-forma invoice requesting payment 2 weeks prior to the day.Accommodation
The Wedding Party is offered 10 discounted rooms on a Bed & Breakfast basis and these will be confirmed with your contract. A further 10 bedrooms can be reserved on a room only basis (breakfast can be pre-booked for a small additional supplement), once the initial block have been allocated. The cost of bedrooms will be confirmed at the time of booking. Buffets Functions requiring only a buffet menu are asked to order from our Celebration Buffet Menu or Celebration BBQ Menu only. Please note we are not prepared to under cater on buffet numbers as this inevitably leads to problems, which, quite unjustly, reflects badly on the hotel. Payment Please note that a 1.5% handling charge will be added to all credit card payments.
