The Place 2 Be

The Place2Be is an award winning charity that works inside schools to support and nurture troubled children by providing one-to-one and group counselling sessions, plus a drop-in service.

Some children bring a lot more to school than homework and dinner money. When children show difficult or challenging behaviour it is often the sign of a deeper problem. Day in, day out, teachers meet children who are angry, sad, frustrated and anxious; children who can soon end up in far worse trouble.

A staggering 80% of children showing behavioural problems at the age of five go on to develop more serious forms of anti-social behaviour, and over 905 of young offenders have had a mental health problem as a child.

The Place2Be exists to provide effective early intervention to help these children.

The Place2Be also works hand-in-hand with parents and teachers to bring about meaningful change. The gradual unraveling of a problem frequently leads to a parent or carer with needs of their own. Often they feel overwhelmed by their child's behaviour, so we help to build up their courage and confident using practical methods that work in the 'real world'.

The Place2Be also supports teachers and other school staff members.
