High Achievers
Each year we run an in-house competition to find the best
waiter, bar tender, chef, housekeeping assistant, receptionist,
conference and events co-ordinator, reservations co-ordinator,
conference and events porter, fitness instructor and spa therapist.
This underpins our value of 'We recognise and reward success'.
One of the most important factors to learning is the appetite to
understand and better oneself. By offering an award system called
'High Achievers' individuals are encouraged to improve their skills
in the knowledge that their efforts will be recognised and
rewarded.
It must not be forgotten that, although the end goal is to
promote individual development and recognise high achievers, by
increasing staff aspirations we are also hoping to enhance the
service we provide to our customers, increasing revenue as a
result.
Through a series of regional heats culminating in a grand final
and awards ceremony with a gala dinner. Macdonald Hotels introduced
the high achievers awards in 2007, each year building on the
success and adding new categories.
