Easily accessed, Rothiemurchus is a privately owned Estate which offers visitors of all ages a wide variety of activities, amidst stunning scenery and with a genuine Highland welcome. It is a special area of outstanding natural beauty at the heart of the Cairngorms National Park and includes some of Europe's most important natural and cultural heritage. It is carefully managed as a sustainable landscape for the benefit of all.

Archery

A great sport for all abilities and fitness levels. Basic instruction given before an element of challenge is introduced. Plenty of scope for games and good-natured competition. Great year-round activity. Minimum age 8 years.

Clay Shooting

One of the best natural clay shooting facilities in the UK. Wide variety of stands, suitable for beginners (12 years+) and challenging for crack shots. Experienced instructors and quality equipment provided. Private lessons arranged for all types of shooting.

Highland Pony Trekking
An excellent way to experience Rothiemurchus and learn the history of this ancient breed along the way. All levels of ability including beginners. Mini Treks for children (minimum age 5 years). Longer peaceful rides amidst beautiful scenery. Exhilarating hacks for experienced riders. Riding hats provided. Weight limit - 16st.


Quad Bike Trekking
Easy to ride Highland Venture quad bikes provide a very different view of Rothiemurchus. Environmentally sensitive trekking through Caledonian Pine forest, woodland and heather woodland. Expert guides take you on a dedicated network of tracks. Minimum age 12 years.


Indoor/Outdoor Climbing and Mini Caving
Designed to be fun for a team, but not too physically challenging. Superb activities at an inspiring centre and other exciting off-site venues. Adult and kid taster sessions in outdoor/indoor rock climbing, abseiling. Excellent intro caving day for kids crawling in dark boulder squeezes, climbs and abseils - brilliant fun!

Land Rover Tours

Mountain Biking

Sled Dog Tours

Visit the UK's only Sleddog Centre to experience this thrilling and traditional mode of transport. Take a tour of the kennels and museum and prepare a 12-dog team and experience a 30-minute adventure along remote forest trails (weather permitting). Breathtaking views a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Walking

Wonderful walks for all ages and capabilities from short forest or loch-side strolls to more adventurous hill walking. Seasonally themed Ranger - accompanied walks led by a knowledgeable and entertaining Countryside Ranger. Self-guided on way marked paths to suit everyone. Adventurous routes for the more energetic. Wildlife Watching
Rothiemurchus is home to a wide variety of wildlife including species rarely seen in the rest of Britain. Visit the Fishery, the best place in Britain to view Ospreys fishing, as well as water birds and waders. Experience night viewings of Pine Marten and Badger from Speyside Wildlife's observation hide.
